Description
This summer we’ll be working on small ensemble playing fundamentals to build towards our first show at the Guelph Jazz Festival in September at Brothers Brewing Co.!
This includes:
- Introducing and presenting tunes.
- Counting in tunes.
- Coordinating solos on the fly.
- Improvisation skills relevant to your level and interests.
- Playing and improvising background figures.
- Endings!
And we’ll work on our charts for fall, and learn the tunes they’re based on in some meaningful detail so the whole experience of performing feels smooth, your connection with the material will deepen, and the opportunities for self expression will be many!
Please pay according to the number of weeks you intend to attend, 11 is the maximum, and 7 is the minimum for the sake of group cohesion. As always if money is an issue please reach out and we’ll make sure you can participate! Check your email for your schedule.
